Cook To Make Record 250th Consecutive Series Start: Veteran driver Terry Cook will make his 250th consecutive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start this Friday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Cook will continue adding to the on-going record making his 268th overall NCTS career-start at AMS this weekend. Cook began his streak in the 1998 season-opening race at Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando , Florida .

Terry Cook on Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway :

“I am looking forward to returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway after we had a really good test back in January of this year. Atlanta is one of the faster tracks which makes for great racing. The track is wide, too, so there is a lot of side-by-side racing and passing. The Wyler guys had the truck handling pretty well in pre-season testing which will make it that much easier when we go back this weekend. Atlanta is a pretty unique track with the high-speeds and I hope to have a great run to get a win in the No. 60 Tundra on Friday night.”

Terry Cook’s Atlanta Expectations:

“I think we have a good chance to go out and win this weekend. We are taking the same truck that we finished fourth with a few weeks ago in Fontana . This is also the same truck that we took to the Atlanta test where we were one of the fastest trucks on the track. The Wyler guys have been working hard over the last few months to get everything prepared for the season and they have been doing a great job. If we can avoid getting caught up in any accidents, we should be able to finish with the No. 60 Wyler Racing Toyota Tundra near the front of the field, and gain a few more spots in the points standings.”

Terry Cook California Recap:

Rain cancelled Truck Series Qualifying, but it did not dampen the day for Cook and the Wyler Racing team. Starting from the 10th position based on 2007 owner points, Cook looked to have the truck for victory lane. Running in the top-ten throughout most of the race, Cook had made his way to the third position by lap 18. When it came time for the checkered flag, Cook had the No. 60 Wyler Racing Tundra in fourth place, bringing home the first top-five finish of 2008 for Wyler Racing. The finish was a welcome change after Cook was involved in an early accident in Daytona finishing 30th. With the great finish in Fontana , Cook now sits 12th in driver points.

Cook’s NASCAR Stats at Atlanta Motor Speedway :

Terry Cook has competed in seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races at AMS since making his first start at the track in 2004. Cook has completed all but two of 923 laps since making his track debut, scoring one top-five and three top-ten finishes, with his best finish of second in the fall 2006 event. Although he has yet to lead a lap on the 1.54-mile track, Cook will be driving the same No. 60 Wyler.com Toyota Tundra in which he scored a fourth place finish just two weeks ago at Auto Club Speedway, formerly known as California Speedway. With a little luck, Cook could very well lead his first laps at AMS en route to his first victory with Wyler Racing.
