STORY LINES LEADING INTO NASHVILLE:

~ Bringing Back The Winning Truck: The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team is bringing back Truck No. 10-11 to Nashville Superspeedway, which they won with at Kansas Speedway earlier this year. Truck No. 10-11 made its debut at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in 2006 and finished second. Its other start came at Texas Motor Speedway, finishing 16th

~ Cook Teaches Rookie Class: Each week the NCTS holds a rookie drivers meeting prior to the first practice session. Cook, a veteran driver, leads the class and teaches the rookies everything from the racing line to avoiding trouble in the corners. There are 12 Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year contender entered in Friday night’s race

~ Over The Wall Not Just for Men: Nicole Addison (rear tire changer) is the only female over-the-wall crew member in NASCAR’s top-three series. This is her second full-time year in the NCTS and first with the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team

~ Open-Wheel Spotter Now in NASCAR: Tony Hirschman III is spotter for the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team. Hirschman spotted in the IRL from 1999-2003 with drivers Sarah Fisher and Stephan Gregoire. The Northampton, Pa. native started as a spotter for his father, Tony Sr. in 1996 in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series and has spotted in NASCAR’s Busch and Craftsman Truck Series the last three seasons

COOK ON COMPETING AT NASHVILLE:

“In the last year or so I’ve been looking forward to going to the concrete tracks because we’re taking a lot better race trucks than I’ve ever had. Anytime you go to a race track that you may not have performed well at in the past and you get some new equipment, you basically get a new chance to shine. I am really looking forward to going to Nashville because it’s the next track on the circuit we’ll be taking the race-winning truck from Kansas. This is the first time we’ll be bringing it back since its win so we’re looking for a good run there. I think we can definitely capitalize and ultimately get us a win with the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team, which would be really cool. They give a really nice trophy there, a great guitar, a special one-of-a-kind deal and so I’m looking forward to hanging that in my house somewhere.”
