2004 Race Summary . . .
While most of the leaders pitted for tires and fuel under the race’s fourth caution flag, the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team stayed out to lead 13 laps at RIR.  Cook held off eventual winner, Ted Musgrave for a handful of laps to finish ninth after the team used pit strategy to earn its sixth top-10 finish in 2004.  The team made a pit stop under race’s third caution flag, allowing the team to reach the checkered flag without having to pit late in the race.

Terry Cook on his previous truck racing at RIR . . .
“We’ve been very successful there in the past at Richmond International Raceway.  It is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule.  It’s one of those tracks we’ve been able to qualify very well but haven’t really got the race package where it needed to be.  It has to deal a lot with having practice early on in the daytime and racing at night and just not keeping up with the race setup of the truck.”

Cook on Last Year’s NCTS race at RIR . . .
“This race is a true testament for the International Trucks and Engines Ford race team,” said Cook.  “We looked at the issues we had in the past races and tested prior to coming here at Richmond.  Our test was conclusive in resolving the problems and it showed with another top-10 finish tonight.  I give credit to the crew members on the ppc Racing team; they worked through the night to prepare a stout vehicle.  I’m very pleased with our efforts.”
