2004 Race Summary . . .
The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team qualified in the top 10 for the second year in a row and knew staying up front would be key in winning the race.  When the first pit stops came under the race’s second caution, Cook was blocked in the team’s pit stall.  The extra time put Cook back in the field and in traffic.  With 50 laps to go, Cook spun after being tapped from behind and luckily saved the truck from further damage.  The team went on to finish 24th and maintained a top-20 position in the NCTS driver points standings.

Cook on Last Year’s race at BMS . . .
“We decided to pit early with the leaders but got blocked in the pits (by the No. 52) and lost our track position.  We tried to work our way back through the field but got jammed up on a restart.  I got to the outside of the 52 truck and a hole opened up behind him.  My spotter yelled, 'Clear,' and I went for the hole.  By the time I got there the hole closed.  The 50 truck turned me around.  It's tight racing at Bristol and the holes fill up real quick-like.  Unfortunately that's what happened to us."

Dan Cagle, Spotter, on His Important Role at BMS . . .
“Bristol is a tough track to spot; it’s a lot of action.  You have to be on your toes.  Spotting is harder at Bristol because you have to watch not only what’s going on around the truck but what’s in front and behind.”
