2004 Race Summary . . .
Kansas was a near win for the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team. However, after a restart, driver Terry Cook spun off turn four when lapped traffic got in the way of the teams run to the front. Cook was running in the top 10 at the time and suffered damage in the incident, limiting the teams ability to contend for the win. Cook would end up finishing 10th.
Kansas Speedway a Special Track . . .
Power Stroke Diesel by International employees know Kansas Speedway is a special place for the Melrose Park, Ill. organization. The 1.5-mile speedway is site of its debut NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series sponsorship back in 2001. Now four years later, the sponsorship continues with a proven top-10 organization, ppc Racing. Cook sits eighth in the NCTS driver points standings heading into this weekends event. Last year the team finished 10th and has finished in the top 10 in six of the 11 races run thus far in 2005. Will the string of success continue at Kansas?
Debut of a New Truck . . .
The Power Stroke Diesel by International race team will bring Truck No. 10-09, its newest truck in the fleet to Kansas Speedway. It is a clone to No. 08, which had much success at Charlotte, Dover and Texas. The team tested No. 09 at The Milwaukee Mile last month but decided to hold off its debut for Kansas. Could the success from Truck No. 10-08 transfer to its clone, No. 09?
ppc Racing Going for 200 . . .
The Power Stroke Diesel by International race team can once again be part of history with ppc Racing. Entering this weekends races at Kansas Speedway and Daytona International Speedway, ppc Racing has the chance to earn its 200th-career top-10 finish should drivers Kenny Wallace, Michel Jourdain Jr. and Terry Cook finish in the top 10 Friday and Saturday. The Mooresville, N.C.-based organization is at 197 top 10s, 21 of those being trips to Victory Lane.
