three spots to second in the driver points standings, five points
behind leader Bobby Hamilton.

Tracking the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team . . .
Confidence. That is what Power Stroke Diesel by International driver,
Terry Cook had going into the race weekend at Michigan International
Speedway (MIS). After a seventh-place finish last week, Cook was
determined to make his 200th-career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
(NCTS) start his most memorable yet with a win.

All week long, Cook knew he had the truck to beat as the team brought
Truck No. 10-08 for the fourth straight week. The team was not worried
about qualifying after a 19th-place effort on Friday. Their focus; the
race. The green flag waved Saturday afternoon and all eyes were on Cook. How many laps would it take him to lead the race? By lap 10, Cook was
10th, then third on lap 30. Cook was making it three and sometimes four wide
around the two-mile speedway with more than 60,000 race fans in the
grandstands, a record for a NCTS at MIS.

Cook took the lead on lap 35 when Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, pitted
during the second caution flag. Crew Chief, Rick Gay made the call to
stay out, earning the team five extra bonus points for leading a lap in
the race. Cook held the lead for 11 laps before coming to pit road on
lap 47 for four tires and fuel under the race's third caution flag.

Several competitors stayed out, putting the No. 10 Power Stroke Diesel
by International Ford F-150 seventh in line on the restart. Cook moved
back into the top five on lap 53 before making his final pit stop on
lap 66 under yet another caution flag in the race.

Cook was poised to again move to the front, restarting the race in
seventh on lap 80. However, Cook felt the truck's handling to be quite
different once up to speed. One by one, Cook was being passed by and
with 10 laps to go was 16th.

The race's sixth caution flag came out when three trucks crashed off
turn two. Cook wanted to pit but with 28 trucks on the lead lap, the
Power Stroke Diesel by International race team could not give up that
much track position with such few laps to go.

Cook picked up three positions from the accident on the backstretch and
crossed the start/finish line 13th on the lead lap. Afterward, Cook
spoke of his 200th-career NCTS start:

"The Power Stroke Diesel by International Ford was absolutely perfect;
it was awesome. This was the best truck I have ever had at Michigan
International Speedway and it was going to be an easy win. We had our
tire and pit strategies all set to win the race but unfortunately a
lower radiator pan broke in the truck with 20 laps to go. It created a
push to the handling of the truck and I couldn't get back to the
front."

Although a disappointing finish, Cook and the Power Stroke Diesel by
International race team moved up one position each in the NCTS driver
and owner points standings to seventh and eighth, respectively.

Cook cut his points lead deficit over Bobby Hamilton by 21 and is 46
out of the top five.
