2004 Summary . . .
Another top-10 finish for the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team could have been a win.  Cook battled for the lead several times until lap 50 when a piece of debris landed on the nose of the race truck.  The debris covered a portion of the grill causing the water temperature to rise and affecting the truck’s handling.  Luckily, a caution came out the same lap Cook was planning to pit for service, keeping Cook on the lead lap and in contention for his fifth top-10 finish of the season.

Cook on the team’s last three races . . .
“The Power Stroke Diesel by International race team has built a flawless truck and we’ll take that same truck to Michigan this weekend.  Our team has said what we need are top 10s, which will turn into top fives and eventually a win.  After two top fives and three top-10 finishes in the last three races, the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team is expecting a win in the very near future.  I can’t think of a better track than Michigan International Speedway, my home track to return to Victory Lane.”

Cook on his 200th start coming at his home track . . .
“It’s coincidental that my 200th-career start would come at my home track, Michigan International Speedway.  Again, I can’t think of a better place to celebrate this accomplishment than in my backyard, my home track at Michigan.  This definitely will be a special weekend.”

Crew Chief, Rick Gay on the recent successes of the team . . .
“There are a multitude of things that have gotten us the top-10 finishes the last three weeks.  We’ve built new race vehicles to take to the track.  I also believe the longer I’m working with Terry and the team, the stronger we’ll become.  We feed off our good finishes so the string of top 10s for the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team will continue our successes.”

Gay on having eight-straight weeks of racing . . .
“I like to race in consecutive weeks because everybody is fresh at the track and in the shop.  Racing is a demanding sport and those that rise to the occasion meet the challenges that go with racing every week and I feel the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team is ready for the challenges ahead.”
