Terry Cook, Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing Team Conclude Testing

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) – Terry Cook and the No. 10 Power Stroke Diesel by International racing team concluded their two-day test session at Atlanta Motor Speedway Tuesday evening logging in the second-fastest lap at 173.578 mph. Four other teams participated in the test session in preparation for the March 18th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, the first race to be held under the lights on the 1.5-mile speedway. Cook talked about the team’s test and the successes they’ve had even before the season’s first race at Daytona International Speedway.

“I had the best test weekend I’ve ever had in my racing career,” said Cook. “We had two days of testing, one at Talladega Superspeedway and the other at Atlanta over the weekend in preparation for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. We went to Talladega because we lost our Daytona truck during a test session crash a couple of weeks ago. The truck, the one we sat on the pole with at Daytona last year, was destroyed but the team has equally built another fast truck in time for Speedweeks at Daytona. I can tell you the excitement level to get the season started is very high with the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.”

Cook is rightfully pleased with the efforts ppc Racing has put forth this year. With a full off season to build new trucks, restructure and add personnel to the program, Cook sees the truck program further ahead than from last year.

“You always wish you were a bit further ahead even if you have everything sitting in the shop ready to race,” said Cook. “We’re about four trucks and three months ahead from where we were last year. Last year at this time we only had one or two trucks built, where this year we’re way ahead heading to Daytona. We’re a lot more organized with the crew already in place and our pit stop practices have improved during the off season. We definitely are much further ahead and ready to start the season.”

Cook and the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team will head to Daytona Beach, Fla. Feb. 14th for Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway. The season-opening race will take the green flag on Friday, Feb. 18th at 8 p.m. EST.
