New Look, Same Team, Working for Winning Results

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) – Terry Cook and Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International have a new look in the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) with ppc Racing. A traditional red and black paint scheme is no longer the scene on the circuit as the No. 10 truck’s bright yellow paint scheme will debut at Daytona International Speedway in the series’ first race of the season.

The 2005 NCTS season will be the fifth year for International Truck and Engine and Power Stroke Diesel,” said Matt Smela, motorsports and marketing operations manager at International Truck and Engine Corp. “Last year, Power Stroke Diesel celebrated its 10th anniversary as the leader in the diesel market and we wanted to start our next decade of dominance with a fresh, new look for our loyal owners and fans. Our new paint scheme and logo is powerful and exciting, just as our diesel engines. We hope the vibrant look and Terry Cook’s performance on the track will drive fans to their local Ford Dealer to take a test drive of a new Super Duty Pickup with a Power Stroke Diesel engine.”

2005 will mark ppc Racing’s second season competing in the NCTS with Cook returning to the driving duties. It will be Cook’s tenth year in the series, where he will make his 200th-career start at Michigan International Speedway. Cook says the change in colors will definitely eliminate any problem finding the truck on the track.

“It’s been a very big face lift here at ppc Racing with the Power Stroke Diesel by International race team,” said Cook. “This year we have a new, bright-yellow paint scheme. I don’t foresee anyone having a problem seeing us on the track. Last year we had a lot of trucks, especially in the Ford camp, that were painted red and black, the traditional colors for Power Stroke Diesel. I’ve been attached to the traditional red and black paint scheme but this year I’m really into the new colors.”

2005 will mark car owner Greg Pollex’s second year in the NCTS. Pollex, the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship owner, looks to add his first NCTS win to his trophy case in Mooresville, N.C., home of ppc Racing.

“ppc Racing has had a historical and successful track record in NASCAR,” said Pollex, who will field full time entries in NASCAR’s top-three series in 2005. “With Terry Cook as our driver and sponsorship from Power Stroke Diesel by International returning in the truck series, we will continue that record. Our first year in the truck series was a trying year but we’ve assessed our strengths and have added the personnel we feel will elevate our truck program to a contender at every race.”

“There’s a lot of work that went into the color changes,” said Keith Barnwell, general manager at ppc Racing. “The folks at The Decal Source and Power Stroke Diesel by International collectively put together what we feel is an awesome paint scheme. One of the issues we had last year was the visibility of the race truck and now we feel that if you’re watching the race, whether it be on TV or in the grandstands, you’ll not only see our truck, you’ll know it’s the Power Stroke Diesel by International truck.”
