Terry Cook Pleads for Help from NASCAR after Tough Finish at California Speedway
(FONTANA, Calif.) Terry Cook, driver of the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race truck finished 19th at California Speedway Saturday night in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event. Cook battled along with the rest of the Ford Racing teams all night keeping up with the other competing manufacturers. Cooks highlight was leading under the second caution flag to gain additional driver points. The nine-year series driver talked about his night of frustration on the two-mile speedway.
None of the Fords were stellar at all tonight, said Cook, who has three top-10 finishes at California Speedway. We were all grouped back there pretty much the whole weekend. Its tough to swallow. All of us raced extremely well at Michigan and thought we would come here and run well again. NASCAR definitely needs to look at giving us some help. We are at a disadvantage of dynamic proportions. All we ask for is an even playing field. We dont ask for anything better than anybody else but were going to work hard to make sure that the next race we go to were on an even playing field. We cannot wait until next year. We cant wait till four races from now. We need help at the next race. I dont know exactly what that help is or how we can get it but we need something.
Cook and the ppc Racing crew have the following weekend off before returning to Texas Motor Speedway October 16th.
