Terry Cook’s Day Ends Early at New Hampshire

(LOUDON, N.H.) – Terry Cook was looking forward to another top-10 finish at New Hampshire International Speedway, however, his day ended early finishing 35th.  With inclement weather most of Saturday and the race delayed by nearly four hours, Cook took the green flag in the No. 10 International Trucks and Engines Ford and moved quickly into the top 25 by lap 40.  Coming off turn two on the 43rd lap, Cook lost power and quickly pulled into the pits to the attention of the pit crew.  Cook talked about his day at New Hampshire:

“Something in the distributor broke and hurt the engine,” said Cook.  “This is the Power Stroke Diesel team and I wish we had a Power Stroke Diesel Engine.  If it was a diesel, we’d have been fine.  We’ve had great horsepower from Robert Yates Racing all year long and were just starting to get the International Trucks and Engines Ford program turned around after finishing in the top 10 last week at Richmond.  We had a real loose setup in qualifying and didn’t qualify very well but felt really good about our chances in the race.  We started moving up through the field, buying our time but something let go in the distributor.  It’s unfortunate that it happened but we’ll be back, ready for Las Vegas.”

“We have nothing to be ashamed of,” said Jamie Jones, crew chief of the No. 10 International Trucks and Engines Ford.  “The guys worked hard at the shop and at the track.  We’re going to Las Vegas next week with a brand new truck and feel confident of our chances.  The season ain’t over.  We’ll be back next week.”

Cook and the ppc Racing team head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway next week for the Las Vegas 350.  Cook finished seventh last year and will go for his seventh top-10 finish of the season Saturday night.  Catch all the action beginning at 10 p.m. EDT.
