Terry Cook and Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® Team Score Another Top-10 in Kansas City
(KANSAS CITY, Kansas) Terry Cook and the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International team had another strong showing at Kansas Speedway, finishing tenth in Saturdays NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event. Cook maintained a top-10 position throughout most of the event until a lap-110 spin on the frontstretch as he battled lapped traffic. The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International team serviced Cook on lap 112, keeping the Sylvania, Ohio native on the lead lap. Cook quickly moved back into the top 10 just laps later and held his position to post his fourth top-10 finish of the season.
The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International truck was awesome today, said Cook. We were running fourth on a restart with about 60 to go and lapped traffic was doing their own thing. I got underneath the No. 8 truck off of turn four and it started coming around. I buried the throttle and did all I could just to keep it off the wall. We went down through the grass and knocked the valance up and took a truck that should have won or at least run second and ended up finishing tenth.
Cook started 13th after qualifying was canceled on Friday and moved in tenth place on the second lap. The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International team serviced Cook under the third caution flag on lap 30 for four tires, fuel and adjustments in under 19 seconds. The adjustments and fresh tires showed over time as Cook moved one-by-one to fourth by lap 71.
With the numerous caution flags in the event, Cook took advantage to take on four fresh tires and fuel on lap 81. The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International team again quickly got Cook back on the track and maintained fourth place on a lap-85 restart.
Cook was looking like a strong contender and was battling lapped traffic in turns three and four when he spun attempting to make a pass. The spin damaged the front valance of the race truck but was quickly repaired by the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International crew after changing four tires and adding fuel on lap 112.
Cook restarted 11th on lap 114 and moved back into the top 10 just two laps later. With guidance from spotter Keith Barnwell, Cook pressed on and finished tenth at the checkered flag.
Cook and the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International team head to Kentucky Speedway for next Saturday nights Built Ford Tough 225 as he and the team look to notch another top-10 finish.
