Terry Cook and Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® Racing Team Earns Top 10 in Milwaukee

(WEST ALLIS, Wis.) - Terry Cook and the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing team showed once again he is a pro at The Milwaukee Mile with a seventh-place finish in Friday night's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.  Cook slowly worked his way into the top 10 in the second half of the event after starting 19th.  The Sylvania, Ohio native matched his finish from last year as he heads into next weekend's event at Kansas Speedway.

"Just like Greg Pollex (co-owner) said before the race, 'This is the start of our season,'" said Cook.  "The guys did a good job. They never gave up all night long and kept on working. The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing truck wasn't where we needed it in the beginning of the race but they kept working on it and made some great calls and good changes all night long."

Cook maintained a top-20 position the first 50 laps and constantly called into crew chief, Jamie Jones the handling of the truck.  The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing team pitted Cook on lap 62 for the first time in the event, changing four tires, adding gasoline and making several adjustments in under 21 sec.

Cook restarted the event in 22nd on lap 65 and held his position until lap 101 under the third caution flag when he pitted again for four tires, gasoline and adjustments.  The restart on lap 107 only lasted a handful of laps with another caution, giving the Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing team a chance to add enough gasoline to make it to the end.

"I drove as hard as I could all night long," said Cook.  I'll tell you that we salvaged a good, solid top-10 finish. The afternoon wasn't looking too good so to come out of here with a solid top-10 is good.  We said today after all of the problems that we've had, the season starts today and I guess in our first race of the season we got a top 10."

Cook began his move to the front as competitors cycled through their round of pit stops, giving Cook a top-10 position on lap 129.  From there Cook never looked back as co-owner and spotter Keith Barnwell coached the five-time series winner to his third top-10 finish of the season.

Cook and rest of the ppc Racing team head to Kansas Speedway next Saturday, site of Cook's first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' event with sponsor Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing.

Based in Mooresville, N.C., ppc Racing enters its first season of competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with driver Terry Cook and the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.  ppc Racing continues its competition in the NASCAR Busch Series, its fifth season, with driver Jason Keller in the No. 22 Miller High Life Ford Taurus.  With co-owners Greg Pollex and Keith Barnwell, ppc Racing earned the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship and has scored 27 wins and more than 150 top-five finishes as it enters the 2004 season.
