The Right Ingredients Are In Place For Terry Cook and The Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® Racing Team in Texas

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) – Terry Cook and the Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® Racing Team are cooking a recipe called “Victory Lane” at Texas Motor Speedway.  Cook, who started off the 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with a pole and top-five finish, finds himself surrounded by ppc Racing’s powerhouse of performance.  Could Texas Motor Speedway be the momentum Cook needs to earn his first championship?

“I’ve been fortunate to have some really good runs at Texas Motor Speedway but never really the good finishing results,” said Cook.  “I’ve amassed several top 10s but never a race win in the trucks.  Texas is a track you have to get the truck driving almost flat out all night long.  You’re on the verge of being wide open all night long but that’s if you’re fast.  If you’re not fast, then you’re not going to be nearly as wide open.  Knowing that we’ve got Robert Yates Engines under the hood, a brand new truck ppc Racing takes a lot of pride in and Jamie Jones as our new crew chief, you add all those ingredients together and you get a recipe for success.”

Cook knows how to get around the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway.  He proved that last year when he earned a top-10 start and finish in both events en route to a third consecutive top-10 finish in the driver points standings.  Cook will be in a familiar seat, literally.  The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing Team will bring Truck No. 10-03 that competed last week at Dover International Speedway.

“We’re excited to bring back Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International truck,” said Cook, who has two prior starts on 1.5-mile racing facilities this year.  “We’ve found some of our ailments that made us suffer at Dover.  We’ve learned at Atlanta and Charlotte what to do and not to do; our expectations are high.  Adding all this together, I think we’ve got the right ingredients to stay up front all weekend long at Texas Motor Speedway.”

Based in Mooresville, N.C., ppc Racing enters its first season of competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with driver Terry Cook and the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.  ppc Racing continues its competition in the NASCAR Busch Series, its fifth season, with driver Jason Keller in the No. 22 Miller High Life Ford Taurus.  With co-owners Greg Pollex and Keith Barnwell, ppc Racing earned the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship and has scored 27 wins and more than 150 top-five finishes as it enters the 2004 season.
