TERRY COOK POST RACE QUOTES -
"We came here with a dominant truck that won from pole position at The Milwaukee Mile last season," said Cook. "This Power Stroke Diesel/Oil Mate Ford team thought we had a solid shot at winning the GNC Live Well 200 after scoring the Bud Pole Award, but we ended up with our seventh Top-10 of the season instead."
"We were able to keep the No. 29 Power Stroke Diesel Ford in the lead for about 41 laps until the No. 46 truck was able to get around us," said Cook. We were so tight in the center of the corner that we couldn't hold on. We had a similar situation here at Milwaukee that we had at Memphis last weekend. No adjustments we made seemed to help the situation on long runs. On our pit stops, the Power Stroke Diesel/Oil Mate crew made adjustments that made our truck easier to drive initially, but for some reason the more laps we put on the tires the tighter the truck became. I just couldn't get it to turn through the corners."
"We need to go home and do more homework on this tire apparently, said Cook. "We thought we had a little bit better handle on it here, but we don't. I don't know what to do on this particular tire. I wish we could just quit running it and then we wouldn't have worry about it. Bottom line is that we have to figure it out and we will."
"We'll take the Top-10 finish and move on to Kansas Speedway," said Cook. "We had a respectable sixth-place finish at the state-of-the-art facility last season. Before I strap into the No. 29 Power Stroke Diesel Ford for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 (250 miles, 167 laps), I will be throwing out the first pitch for the Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball game at Kauffman Stadium July 3. I am thrilled to have this opportunity thanks to the Kansas City Royals."
