       MILWAUKEE, WI (June 23, 2003) - One of Terry Cook's most memorable wins last season occurred at The Milwaukee Mile where the No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel Ford driver had his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start in 1996 at the one-mile flat oval.
      "A NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at The Milwaukee Mile was big for me personally," said Cook. "Winning at the track where I had my very first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start was really special. We are bringing back the same truck - Droopy Dog - that won there last season so we should be good."
     In addition to a win at The Milwaukee Mile from pole position, Cook garnered a fourth-place finish at the Milwaukee oval in 2001.
      "We are very confident heading into the GNC Live Well 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at The Milwaukee Mile," said Cook. "We finished fourth there two years ago with the K-Automotive No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel by International entry, so last year wasn't just a fluke deal. Our confidence level is high for this race."
     Looking to break a streak of no repeat NCTS winner's at Milwaukee, Cook aims for his sixth career victory in the ninth season of the circuit racing at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds.
      "My driving style suits flat tracks," said Cook. "For some reason, I have become a fan of the big flat tracks like Milwaukee. Milwaukee promotes great racing. It's a track you can easily overdrive. You have to be aggressive to get underneath trucks, but you have to be careful getting into the corners and not drive in to deep. If you drive in to deep on a flat track like Milwaukee, the front end will start sliding. You will lose a lot of time on a given lap. It's also a hard braking track. Handling and downforce of the vehicle are elements you have to have there. You have to have good brakes, a good motor, but the key is handling for you to be successful."
     Cook attributes K-Automotive team's success to their sponsor International Truck and Engine Corporation which announced their support of the Lake Orion (MI) team at 'The Mile' in 2001. Power Stroke® Diesel began dabbling in racing by sponsoring the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 1999 event at Indianapolis Raceway Park not far from the Cook's Pittsboro home.
     "Power Stroke® Diesel has been one our biggest supporters and we have been very fortunate to be affiliated with their corporation for three years," said Cook. "We are looking forward to being a competitor in the fifth running of the Power Stroke® Diesel 200 in August at Indianapolis Raceway Park. IRP is located near Power Stroke® Diesel's Indianapolis plant that has cranked out more than 8 million diesel engines since its opening in 1971. Power Stroke® Diesel and another big supporter EMP Oil Mate will be at Milwaukee this weekend to celebrate our partnership and join us for the race. Milwaukee is the home track for EMP Oil Mate like IRP is for Power Stroke® Diesel."
     After Cook completes 200 laps at The Milwaukee Mile, he journeys to St. Louis to be a Honorary Starter for the seventh annual Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals at Gateway International Raceway's drag strip June 29.
    "Being Honorary Starter for the Sears Craftsman Nationals is huge for me because I'm such a fan of NHRA drag racing," Cook said.  "To be standing on the starting line when those Top Fuel cars take off is incredible - there's a rumble in your chest and your whole body is shaking. This is really a big thrill and I am thankful to Craftsman for asking me to represent the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for seventh annual Sears Craftsman NHRA event at Gateway.
      "Gateway is another special track for me because it was my first win with the Power Stroke® Diesel team," continued Cook. "We are looking to go back there and repeat, but first I'm hearing that Rick Crawford, who will be Grand Marshall, and I will have a special drag racing match in street cars staged immediately prior to the championship rounds. A grudge match with Crawford will be loads of fun for both of us."
       Cook and the No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel Ford team will take the green flag in the GNC Live Well 200 at The Milwaukee Mile Saturday, June 28 at 3 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The event will be telecast live on Speed Channel and broadcast live on MRN Radio nationwide.
