HOMESTEAD, FL (March 6, 2003) - Some of the biggest hitters on the Professional Golf Association tour let someone else do the driving Tuesday at
Homestead-Miami Speedway in preparation for the Ford Championship PGA event at Doral Country Club this weekend.

Stuart Appleby, Fred Funk and Billy Mayfair, along with nearly a dozen other PGA stars, were treated to the thrill of a lifetime as NASCAR Team Ford drivers Terry Cook, Matt Kenseth, Elliott Sadler, Kasey Kahne, Dale Jarrett and Rick Crawford chauffeured the golfers around the 1.5-mile Florida oval at high speed.

"We had a lot of fun mixing with the PGA guys and the Ford dealers," stated Cook, driver of the No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel Ford NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry.  "We used the Dale Jarrett Adventure Ford Taurus two-seater cars for the rides and we really opened them up. They are really a fun car to drive and I know the PGA guys had fun riding with us."

Cook and the rest of the NASCAR drivers also had the opportunity to drive another kind of racing vehicle during Tuesday's activities.

"All the Ford drivers got to take some laps on an eighth-mile track in the new Ford Focus Midget car," said Cook. "That was a real thrill for me. Of course, Kasey Kahne was easily the best, but that's to be expected because he is a two-time USAC National Midget champion. I also had a little advantage over the other guys because I've been in a Midget before. Matt Kenseth and Elliott Sadler liked driving the new cars so much that they wanted to know where they could get one. They had so much fun that they wanted to get one because it's such a challenging little car and it's a great way to stay in shape."

Round one of the PGA Ford Championship at Doral Country Club in Miami will tee off Thursday, March 6. The event will be televised on the USA Network beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Meanwhile, Kenseth, Sadler and Jarrett will take to the track Sunday in the NASCAR Winston Cup Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Cook, Crawford and Kahne will have to wait a week before returning to action at Darlington Raceway March 13-15.
