CLERMONT, IN (July 26, 2002) - After three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series wins this season on flat, one-mile ovals, Terry Cook and his No. 29 Power Stroke Diesel Ford by International are ready for another round of short track action. According to the Indianapolis, IN resident, there's no better place to do that than at the historic .686-mile Indianapolis Raceway Park oval in the fourth running of the Power Stroke Diesel 200.

"We're going to IRP with expectations for another win for our sponsor Power Stroke Diesel," said Cook, who has picked up NCTS victories at Gateway, Milwaukee and New Hampshire this season. "We have a stout program put together and we've been able to pick up a few wins along the way this season. All the sudden, we are back in contention for the Truck Series championship and that's because we are continuing to strive for consistency and top finishes. We have a great package for IRP and we should be good there again."

Finishing second to Jack Sprague in the 200-Lap Power Stroke Diesel classic proved to be bittersweet for Cook and his K-Automotive team a year ago. This time around, you can be sure Cook will be aiming to come home a winner in his sponsor's event.

"To come up just one position short behind Jack was kind of a bummer you might say," said Cook of his career-best finish at IRP. "We put on a great show for all of the Power Stroke Diesel representatives attending the race from the Indianapolis plant and Melrose Park (IL) office. We just wanted to give them a little more. If there's one race we want to win throughout the entire year, it's the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at IRP."

Prior to this year's Power Stroke Diesel 200, Cook will be turning pages instead of corners at Brownsburg Public Library. The appearance, the second year in a row Cook has visited a local library, will be just one of many the seven-year Truck Series veteran will make in the week leading up to his sponsor's race.

"We've got a busy week ahead of us," said Cook. "It kicks off with a library reading at Brownsburg Library and Tuesday, we are inviting the media to come out and race go-karts against me at 9 a.m at IRP. Then, I'll be at the Ford Fan Fest Thursday afternoon and that's just to name a few of the things we have going before the race Friday."

Cook and his No. 29 Power Stroke Diesel Ford will take the green flag in the Power Stroke Diesel 200 Friday, August 2. The event will be telecast by ESPN and broadcast live on MRN Radio at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
