WHITE SOX PLAYERS TAKE RIDE IN
NO. 29 POWER STROKE® DIESEL FORD

CICERO, IL (August 16, 2001) - Chicago White Sox pitchers Matt Ginter and Bob Howry, traded in their gloves for helmets at Chicago Motor Speedway. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver, Terry Cook, took the players for a ride in the No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel Ford F-150 at the one-mile six-degree banked oval where he posted an eighth-place finish last season.

"You have a good commentator in there with you," said Ginter of Cook. "He gave us pretty much all the information we needed to know about racing with some rules and regulations. It was a rush. He's a great driver and I'm glad he was the one driving and not me."

"That was amazing," said Howry climbing out of the No. 29 red, black and grey Power Stroke Diesel Ford. "It's hard to actually feel what the drivers go through watching it on television. We were not going as fast as they are around the track, but it was definite pure adrenaline. I don't know if I'll be able to make it out this weekend to the track, but I know they are coming to Phoenix at the end of October and that's where I live. I am going to try to get out and watch them then."

From Chicago Motor Speedway, Cook and his Power Stroke Diesel team will take the green flag in the Sears Craftsman 175 Saturday, August 18, at 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The NCTS event will be telecast live by ESPN and broadcast on MRN Radio.
