MILLINGTON, TN (June 23, 2001) - An engine problem spoiled a solid run for Terry Cook and the No. 29 TruckSeries.com Ford in the Memphis 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park Saturday.

"We dropped a cylinder at Lap 80," said Cook, who was credited with 25th in the final running order. "I radioed Crew Chief Bob Keselowski telling him what happened and I brought the No. 29 TruckSeries.com Ford down pit road for a look under the hood. Bob decided that we should just go back out and make some laps. We came into the pits under caution at Lap 103 to simply take off some tape, but the motor locked up. We couldn't get it refired and that put us out for good.

"We had some motor problems yesterday and that possibly could have had something to do with it," Cook continued. "It's unfortunate because the truck was really good today. We had just passed Randy Tolsma for seventh and had been running in the Top-10 all day. We were out there riding around having a good time and we felt confident we had a Top-5 truck. I thought we would be there at the end to challenge for the win."

Cook posted a sixth-place qualifying effort Friday despite having to replace rocker arm and push rod on the engine before time trials. The solid team effort appeared to pay off as the problem subsided during 'Happy Hour' practice. Unfortunately, the engine malady returned just short of the halfway mark spoiling another solid performance for the K-Automotive team.

"We've had an interesting qualifying and race day to say the least," said Cook. "We were pretty good when we first unloaded in practice and we became better. However, at the end of practice we had an engine problem. The guys really worked hard and I thought we were going to have to change it, but we were able to repair it. Unfortunately, it's possible that the motor problems from yesterday rolled over into today, but it are really hard to say. You take a engine that's this good and you run a whole happy hour and then put it out for the race it's hard to speculate."

The problem not only spoiled the day for Cook, but it also dropped him two positions to seventh in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points race, 247 markers out of first place.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next visits Milwaukee and Wisconsin State Fair Park for No. 11 of 24 races slated this season. The GNC Live Well 200 at The Milwaukee Mile will be telecast on ESPN and broadcast by MRN Radio beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Saturday, June 30.
